SUE DOORNBOS

Susan was born in Toronto, but raised in British Columbia. She spent nearly three decades in the banking industry before opening a diverse gift shop with her husband, Rudy. For the following thirteen years, they primarily featured the creations of talented West Coast Indigenous artists. Retirement brought them to Ontario where she volunteered at the ‘Welland Hospital’ gift shop, and enrolled in the creative writing courses at Humber College in Toronto, the Haliburton School of Art, and various literary workshops. Susan and her husband now live in the charming rural setting of Lucknow, near Lake Huron, and continues to pursue her passion of writing cozy mysteries. Her first novel, ‘Misplaced Trust’ was released in 2022.

RICK HUNDEY

Born in Windsor Ontario, Rick Hundey’s careers in community planning, management, and consulting led him to Toronto, London, Southampton, and Exeter over the years.

In 2005 Rick's first place award in the Alice Munro Writers’ Festival Short Story Contest was all the encouragement he needed to leave the safety of suits and ties for the unknown world of mystery writing.

Rick now has four Jack Beer mysteries under his belt. While it's gratifying to get two thumbs up in London Free Press reviews, Rick gets a bigger kick when his readers tell him they like the humour, the surprise endings, and the quirky dialogue.
